Surprises for theme park travelers
Holiday gift season is the perfect time to surprise friends and family with theme-park-themed gifts. Whether the present is an entire trip, or just something to make travel easier or bring the parks home, there are lots of ways to delight the Disney & Universal fans in your life.
I've got several detailed posts on the website with gift ideas for every budget. If you want to dive straight into all the details, including shopping links, head there now:
Here are my top theme park traveler gift ideas
Books
From how-to-tour to the history of Disneyland, you can find a library of theme park books at any online bookstore. A guide book is an excellent way to get anyone excited for a trip. Both the Unofficial Guides and Birnbaum's publish guides just for kids too.
For fans looking to dive deeper, wrap up an in-depth look at Disney's Haunted Mansion or a guide to Hidden Mickeys in the parks.
And don't forget the books that influence some of the most exciting theme park lands of all: the Harry Potter series.
Check out all my book recommendations, including shopping links, here.
Weather gear
Practical items also make excellent gifts. Wrap up a stylish poncho, put some sunscreen in their stocking.
If the gifts are part of a surprise reveal, keep them guessing by wrapping up mundane supplies like lip balm and cooling body cloths.
Help them fill their park bag with essentials - heck, you could even get them a park bag!
Here are some of my top recommended weather and comfort gadgets & gear for the parks.
Park attire
Be those people and get your whole family matching park shirts. Or find something unique for every individual. In my opinion, every park visitor should have at least one themed shirt.
They'll also need good shoes, which can be an investment. Get them a pair of running shoes, or a gift certificate to choose their own.
Socks are also a great Christmas gift. I mean those expensive marathon socks that cost $15 a pair. Now is the perfect time to help them have happy feet for all that walking.
You can find the perfect park shirts in the Go Informed shop on TeePublic. And of course there's a Black Friday sale going on now!

A theme park vacation
Do you already have a theme vacation planned? Does your family already know about it? Put it under the tree anyway.
Wrap up a big box full of balloons and a surprise note, or create a Hogwarts letter for your kid. There are a ton of fun ways to reveal a trip surprise. Check out this Pinterest board for ideas.
